Looks Like Jaromir Jagr Is Going To Need Some New Teeth For Christmas
Jaromir Jagr came into the NHL in 1990. He’s done it all. He’s won Stanley Cups, he’s won scoring titles, he’s won MVPs, he’s been an All Star and he’s currently the NHL’s 4th all time leader in both goals and points. But tonight, at the tender age of 43, Jagr finally got himself a hockey smile courtesy of the Senators’ Alex Chiasson.
Now I don’t want to run the risk of over-blogging Jaromir Jagr this year so I would really appreciate if he could stop being so goddamn lovable all the time. Because after losing those front four chiclets, he made sure he made a point to go over to Chiasson and let him know that he’s not the biggest dickhead in the world for hurting an old man.
And of course Jagr came back out from the locker room to finish the game because the man is a hockey player and playing with a busted ass grill is just a badge of honor in the game. Hell, he almost ended up winning the game for Florida in overtime.
The Panthers ended up taking the 2-1 victory in the shootout which means that they have now won 5 straight games and moved up to 3rd place in the Atlantic division. The Canadiens, who still sit atop of the Atlantic, are currently on a 5-game losing streak. Just 6 points now separate the top 6 teams in that division. Montreal has 43 and 6th place Tampa Bay has 37. Talk about some parity. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, if the Florida Panthers are able to acquire another guy to bolster that top 6 by the deadline, they are going to be a very difficult team to play against in the playoffs. I don’t think they’re a legitimate Cup contender just yet, but I do think they have the ability to break some hearts in that first round. Speaking of breaking hearts, here’s Jagr taking to Twitter after the game to melt some hearts.
If you’re not following Jaromir Jagr on Twitter yet, then I don’t know what you’re doing. The man is a goddamn global treasure and just consider ourselves lucky to be living in his world for this long.
P.S. – Yes, I know that this is not the first time that Jaromir Jagr has lost teeth playing in the NHL. But the first time happened with the Rangers and I like to mentally block out that portion of Jagr’s career.
